The Rio Grande County Public Health Department is seeking a full-time Office Assistant.
The Public Health Office Assistant provides support to the Operations Manager. Experience working in a high-volume, high-energy atmosphere desirable. Must have computer skills; experience managing records, data entry, scheduling, and referrals to the community; the ability to maintain client confidentiality; and to carry out assignments with independence. Experience with customer service and teamwork; working with underserved and diverse clientele preferred. HS diploma or GED required.

Opioid /Substance Use Prevention Project Coordinator (referred henceforth as Project Coordinator) will lead public health prevention efforts in the San Luis Valley by facilitating the implementation of public health substance use prevention best practice models through the SLV Opioid Prevention Coalition. 20 hours per week at $25.72/hr., no benefits. Extension Youth Program Coordinator, Rio Grande County This person will be the local presence of CSU Extension in Rio Grande County and the link between Area Extension Agents and Rio Grande County youth and families in delivering Extension programming. Hours will be variable. We can potentially accommodate either a full time or part time employee. This is a Non-Student Hourly, nine (9) month position. In any 12-month period, a Non-Student Hourly employee may work only 9 months based on the Bi-Weekly Payroll Schedule. This is a pilot project and the continuation and/or growth of this position is reliant on continued funding sources. If funding is secured to continue into a second year, this position may return for another 9 month stint after completing a required 4 month break period.

Rio Grande County Public Health is seeking two Youth Outreach Specialists for the Safer Streets program.
The Youth Outreach Specialists will be part-time contractual staff who will work closely with youth and peers for outreach and support and will collaborate with community agencies to improve participation in the program’s goals and empower community prevention efforts. The Safer Streets Grant/Program goal is partially to build youth peer support and build youth engagement, therefore candidates will ideally be of high school or early college student age, have reliable transportation and access to a computer/internet and be willing to travel to meetings around Rio Grande County.
Rate: $16.25 per hour, No Benefits, Contractual Employee, Part-Time, 20 Hrs/Week through June 2025 then 10 Hrs/Week afterward until Contract is completed.

Child Welfare Case Aide
This position provides Child Care Technician (CHATS) services to eligible recipients. Maintains records on current day care center rates and policies, determines eligibility, assesses fees, and makes referrals to licensed day care vendors. Additionally, technicians record case action, file incoming paperwork and correspondence, work with licensed applicants, recipients, and others. Position requires a high school degree or General Education Degree (GED); in addition, one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Computer skills required may include word processing, spreadsheet applications, and various accounting programs.

Non-Exempt, $18.23 - $18.95/hr, $35,548.50 - $36,952.50/yr, 37.5hr/wk DOE.

Treasurer Clerk
The Rio Grande County is seeking a Treasurer Clerk. The Clerk assists the Treasurer and Deputy Treasurer by handling payments via cash and/or credit card (Tax Payments or handling receipts from other RGC Departments), provide customer support in person or via phone, assist with month-end balancing and ensure the mail is processed in a timely manner. An ideal applicant will be fluent in processing Deed’s.
This is a Full-Time position expected to work 35 hours per week, Pay Range is $18.23 - $18.95 per hr. / $33,178.60 - $34,489 per year DOE.
The position is non-exempt. Benefits include Holiday Pay, Annual & Sick Time, Health, Dental, Vision & Life Insurance and 401A Retirement Plan.
