Rio Grande County Offices will be closed in observance of New Year's Day on Thursday, January 1, 2026. Offices will resume normal hours of operation on Friday, January 2, 2026.

The Rio Grande County Clerk & Recorder's office will be closed on Wednesday, January 21, 2026. Staff will be attending training for the computer upgrade of the motor vehicle system. The office will reopen at 7am on Thursday morning for regular business hours. If you or someone you know has a concern regarding the safety or protection of a child please call 719-657-2000 during normal business hours. 

If it is an emergency outside of these hours please call law enforcement or the Colorado Child Abuse and Neglect Hotline at 1-844-CO-4-KIDS (1-844-264-5437). Law enforcement will in turn contact our after hours worker.
